Privacy Policy

Den is a shared-task app for households. This policy describes the data the iPhone app and dentasks.com API collect to run that service. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Account

When you create an account we store your email address, password hash, display name, and optional profile photo. Email is used to sign in, verify the address, and send password-reset and invite mail. You can add extra emails, change your name and photo, and delete the account from Settings.

Dens and tasks

For each den you join we store membership, rooms, labels, tasks, assignments, due dates, recurrence, completions, skips, snoozes, and related history. Other members of that den can see shared tasks and completion credit. Private tasks stay visible only to the person who created them.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app may send a device token to our servers so we can deliver due and overdue reminders through Apple Push Notification service. You can turn reminders off per den in Settings.

Photos

Profile photos are optional. Choosing a photo from your library copies the image into Den so other den members can see it. We do not browse your library.

Purchases

Premium is sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never receive or store card numbers, bank accounts, or other payment-instrument details.

After a purchase we store Apple’s transaction identifier, the product bought (monthly, yearly, or lifetime), expiry for subscriptions, and which den the license is assigned to. That is how we unlock Premium, restore it on a new device, and keep one license on one den. We do not use purchase history for advertising or tracking.

Where data lives

Account and den data are stored on our servers (PostgreSQL). The iPhone app also keeps a local cache so the app stays usable offline; that cache is on your device and is cleared when you sign out or use Clear Local Cache.

Retention and deletion

We keep data while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your user record and personal profile. Leaving or deleting a den follows the in-app rules for membership and den deletion. Trashed tasks can be restored until they are permanently deleted.

Sharing

We share data with members of dens you belong to (as described above) and with infrastructure needed to run the service (hosting, email delivery, Apple for sign-in tokens, push, and In-App Purchase). We do not sell data or use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Children

Den is a household productivity app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
